What are the controls?

Gunslinger-B-Gone

Buttons:
* Hammer Top = Left 4 dead!
* Hammer Back = Right there boy!
* Trigger = Action! Shoot! Whatever!

Power:
* USB - Power via USB
* Battery - Power via 18650 Battery
* OFF - Really?

Sheriff SAO

Buttons:
* Left = Change Bling
* Right = Change Bling
* Shoot = Change Bling Brightness

Power:
* USB - Power via USB
* Batt - Power via CR2032 if you soldered the battery kit
* SAO - Power via the SAO port, (when attached to the Gunslinger-B-Gone)

How do I make the Sheriff SAO a standalone badge, so I can wear it like a real Sheriff?

How do I get one?

Jeff will be announcing drops on his Bluesky account. Check that out here bigtaro.bsky.social. In additon, there is a signal group here. In addition, there will be some available for purchase from Hacker Warehouse in the Vendor Hall at Defcon 33 (2025)

Will this badge get me into Defcon or any other con?

NO! This badge is for #badgelife and just for fun. You will still need to purchase the official badge to enter their respective conference.

How do I update the firmware?

To update the firmware, power on the badge to USB mode while holding down the button next to the screen. Your badge will appear as a disk drive on your computer. Then, just drag and drop the firmware file onto the mounted disk. It should reboot automatically. The latest firwmare version for the Gunslinger-B-Gone badge is 1.1. Download it here.

Any known issues?

The Gunslinger-B-Gone is using a linear charger. So please make sure to only charge the Gunslinger-B-Gone while off, to prevent overcharging the battery while it draws a load (there is overcharge protection, but just in case :D).

If the battery is removed, and your Gunslinger-B-Gone is plugged into USB power, make sure it is either OFF or USB mode.
